Finalists known for Decathlon Premier Padel Rotterdam Ahoy
| Rotterdam, Sept. 14, 2024 - The finalists of the first edition of Decathlon Premier Padel in Rotterdam Ahoy have been announced. In the women's competition, number 1 on the ranking list, Sanchez Fallada and Josemaria Martin of Spain, will take on compatriot Ortega Gallego and Portugal's Araujo. In the men's event, Spaniard Coello and Argentine Tapia will compete against Chingotto (Argentina) and Galan (Spain).
The main tournament of Decathlon Premier Padel Rotterdam started last Tuesday, preceded by two days of qualification, also in Rotterdam Ahoy. The Top 50 of the world were represented at the P1 tournament, the second level at which tournaments are organized worldwide after the so-called Majors. With at least 33,000 attendees, the tournament immediately nestled itself in the Top 5 of annual indoor sporting events.
The women's final will begin Sunday at 3 p.m., while the men's final will be played immediately following. Before the women's final, another legends game will take place between former top footballers Arjen Robben and Niels Kokmeijer against Rafael van der Vaart and Uruguayan Diego Forlàn. The latter was named best player of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and scored in the semifinal against the Netherlands at the time. In the same match, Robben scored for Orange. |
